Een VWP fietsbinnenband bestaat gewoonlijk uit butyl.
Butyl is een zeer elastisch en tegelijkertijd luchtdicht synthetisch caoutchouc.
Door de hoge elasticiteit is de VWP binnenband geschikt om een grote verscheidenheid aan bandmaten af te dekken.
